Parishad to perform at Vahdat Hall

TEHRAN -- Parishad will give concerts at Vahdat Hall on June 19 and 20.
The band, which is led by singer Parichehr Khalvati, will perform renowned Iranian tasnifs during the shows.
The band features Parvaneh Haj-Gholamhoseini on tar, Minu Ghasempur on qanun, Niusha Barimani on kamancheh, Nazanin Pursani on zarb, and Nadia Kheiri on daf.
No tickets will be sold to men at the females-only concerts.
Niavaran to host tar-tonbak duets
TEHRAN -- Tar player Aidin Olianasab and tonbak player Parisa Ershadi will give duet concerts at the Niavaran Cultural Center on June 19 and 20.
Olianasab and Ershadi will perform pieces in the Chahargah and Nava dastgahs. A dastgah is an associated group of traditional Iranian melodies that constitute a basis for performance.
IPBIW jury members to hold meeting
TEHRAN -- The jury members of the first edition of the International Photography Biennial of the Islamic World (IPBIW) will hold a meeting today.
Achievements of the biennial and plans for future editions of the gala will be discussed during the meeting.
Organized by the Iranian Academy of Arts, the exhibit is currently underway at the Saba Art and Cultural Institute..
